Some of us though this day would never come, but it's official now, the administration of the Drugs Payment Scheme (DPS) is just days away from finally being centralised.
Starting on 26th November 2018, you can contact the National Medical Card Unit, PCRS whenever you have an issue relating to the DPS scheme, be it a new or existing application.
No more fiddling around with contact details for different areas as if different counties were somehow in different countries. All queries can now be addressed to:

On 26th November 2018, the HSE are also introducing a new online Emergency DPS application module within the Pharmacy Suite, which will enable pharmacists to complete the application online as opposed to via fax and mail, which is certainly a welcome if extremely overdue development.
