The ePortfolio review is the process by which pharmacists are required to submit an extract from their ePortfolio which demonstrates that they are appropriately engaging in CPD. Pharmacists can expect to be called to participate in an ePortfolio review once in every five year period.
Did you know that it is not possible for the IIOP to undertake an indepth review of each individual ePortfolio, while ensuring a standardised approach to review? To address this the IIOP has developed an ePortfolio review process which incorporates both an automated (system driven) review and a pharmacist peer review.
The IIOP ePortfolio system first undertakes an automated review of all ePortfolio extracts to check that each of the following minimum criteria has been met within the submission (NB: these standards apply to the extract as a whole and not to individual cycles).

| Minimum number of learning activity types identified in the submitted ePortfolio extract (Action Stage) | 2 |
| Minimum number of learning resource types identified in the submitted ePortfolio extract (Action Stage) | 2 |
| Minimum number of practice impact types identified in the submitted ePortfolio extract (Evaluate Impact on Practice Stage) | 4 |
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE CRITERIA APPLY TO CYCLES THAT HAVE BEEN CREATED IN 2016. CYCLES THAT ARE SUBMITTED WHICH WERE CREATED PRIOR TO 2016 WILL NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE AUTOMATED REVIEW.
In the event that an ePortfolio extract does not meet the automated standards for review, the extract will be forwarded for peer review by a pharmacist. Please note that a random selection of extracts that meet the standards will also be forwarded for peer review, as part of the quality assurance process.
