The document will then only be available online via the Pharmacy Application Suite. Small exception has been made for manual claiming pharmacies, which will receive their paper listings until 1st October 2018.
LTI Non-Core List Reimbursement to Change in July
Submitted by icadmin on Thu, 24/05/2018 - 22:58The HSE have signaled that they will reduce the reimbursement period of non-approved non-core LTI items from current 4 months to just 2 months beginning on the 1st of July 2018.
This change is being introduced ahead of the promised improved visibility of these individually approved items via the Pharmacy Application Suite scheduled to go live towards the end of the summer.
Garda Vetting Required for Pharmacies

Garda vetting requirements apply to any work or activity, where it is a necessary and regular part of this activity to have access to, or contact with, children or vulnerable persons. It shoud come as no surprise that at the very minimum this includes pharmacists and pharmaceutical assistants who work directly with patients and may include other pharmacy employees.
With just 2 weeks to go, it now turns out that this requirement has been sitting quietly in the The National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act since 2012.
Minister For Health Signs Off On Free EHC Service for Medical Card Holders - UPDATED
Submitted by icadmin on Thu, 22/06/2017 - 23:27With just over a week to go, Minister for Health, Simon Harris, has signed a statutory instrument changing access to emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) for medical card holders, effective 1st July 2017.
Minister Harris said “From next month medical card holders will be able to obtain EHC directly from a pharmacy, free of charge, without having to go to their GP for a prescription first."
